“A real gem”

We had a 4 day (3 night) trip to Desert Springs.

The villa has been built to an extremely high spec and can only be classed as luxury.

The weather was great in early October and the golf course is quite outstanding.

There is not a single fairway or green which is not in superb condition and the course layout makes for a fantastic round of golf.

We will return here again and again and recommend to all our friends.

Not to be missed.

“Service the Key!!”

Three night golf trip where the service was superb.

Accommodation very acceptable though make sure you take provisions with you if you want anything other than water, coffee and tea etc.

Food and wine choice really good and service from the guys top drawer, notably Ellie (knows her wine) and Mike behind the bar. Dimitri good contact too and very helpful.

Only drawback was pace of golf, be patient, enjoy the weather and you'll be fine.

Lots of high handicappers were on course which also coincided with local competition so at times very slow.

All in all great experience with the standards of service being the key!

Maggie and I spent a fantastic week with Freddie and Tom at Desert
Springs. We were gobsmacked.

To take a desert location and transform it into a living oasis is
verging on the miraculous but what really impresses is the attention to
detail you've lavished on the project, even down to the excellent  Este
wine.

Although we'd heard a bit about Desert Springs from Freddie and
Tom, descriptions and photographs cannot do it justice – you have to be
there to appreciate it. I don't think anyone else will be able to sustain and develop your vision.

We had a brunch and a dinner in the clubhouse both
of which were great, not least because of the quality of the staff and the
exquisite surroundings, where the attention to detail is particularly
noticeable.

Anyway, given the opportunity I'd love to go again. It's a great
location in a beautiful, vibrant area of Spain – not far short of
paradise (particularly with access to a boat). I just wanted to
congratulate you on the successful implementation of a brilliant, visionary
project. Irrespective of the current adverse economic climate, it is a
testimony to your diligent persistence.

A great place for golf fanatics. Beautiful golf course but very tough.

The weather was perfect every day.

We stayed in a villa 11 La Rosa which again was exceptional, very well equipped and lovely views over the 18th fairway,  just a few minutes walk from the club house and the pool was just steps away from the Villa.

The food and wine in the club house was excellent, 3 courses for just 17.50 euros and the standard and presentation was very good.

Hi Carmen,

I would like to thank you and all the staff for giving myself and husband the opportunity to stay at Desert Springs, it was the perfect place to celebrate our 9 year wedding anniversary.

I will surely report back to James Villas and all our customers who are interested in our resort packages that I highly recommend a stay with you.

The resort itself is beautiful, we had a good look around and spoke to many guests who had nothing but praise also.

We enjoyed the food, breakfast & evening meals that we tried and again the staff were all friendly.

We would also like to say a special thank you to Karen as we spent the day with her having treatments, it was superb.

We drove around the local area which is so easy to reach.

I will be advising the other members of the sales team & will confidently be able to answer the many questions that our customers have knowing that they will be getting value for money and an amazing choice of activities and Lesuire time.

A lovely place for the family too.

Many thanks again.

Sandra

Just a quick note top let you know all four of us had a fantastic time at Desert Springs.

The service is excellent, ALL the staff have a great attitude and are incredibly friendly.

The course is superb and a real experience to play, the clubhouse and restaurant are great, and unlike some other golf resorts, you don?t  look to rip people off with your pricing, we got the feeling we had real value for money.

The apartments were great, one minor criticism, single beds, maybe a double bed option would be a good idea. That?s only a very minor point, overall we are very satisfied with everything about the break and look forward to seeing  you all again soon.

Kind regards

Richard

We returned to Desert Springs again in September, a lovely time of year to visit.

As usual the organisation and villa arrangements were superb.

This time we stayed in a villa on Buenavista which has a style all of its own, with a very different outlook.

There are just 9 villas in a very quiet cul-de-sac.

We will be back, and try to get to Desert Springs at least once a year.

Hi Tania,

Where the Season Began!

The pre season training we did at Desert Springs was certainly brilliant preparation for the year and helped us achieve our major goal of promotion back to Division 1, while also competing well in both 1 day competitions.

If results go the way they should around the country tomorrow we should be promoted as champions with a game to spare which would be great reward for all the players hard work.

They often talk about their time at Desert Springs and the good times we had there, so hopefully we can get it sorted again for next year.

Hope you are well and thanks again.

We stayed at Desert Springs as a family of 5 in late July.

The Villa was top end, with a private pool, superbly equipped, spacious and very clean. All the properties at this resort seem well spaced apart, so if you are looking for privacy you have it, if you are looking for a communal pool with a bar and social element you have that too at The Crocodile Club…. overlooked by a superb casual dining area, balconies and alfresco tables, and a good value family food offering.

The leisure facilities are numerous, and as non golfers, we had ample to do and see, with the coast just a 15 minute ride away at Villaricos.

The golf course does look magnificent, and adds a quality ambience to Desert Springs, there was a driving range and a golf pro giving lessons too, which our son did in a communal morning group session providing him with the perfect introduction to the sport for very little money – he met a few new pals too.

The main restaurant, bar & clubhouse area has an ex-Pat feeling, and the food that we ate there (twice) was great. A stream runs past the dining area and at dusk you are accompanied by the croaking of the local frogs.

What I shall remember most about the holiday was the genuine friendliness and welcome from the Desert Springs team.

Ellie in particular deserves a mention and thanks for always being cheerful and making our children feel so special.

Desert Spings clearly sets itself out as being an upmarket and exceptional holiday, leisure or golfing destination, and the distance to Murcia airport makes it attractive for a return visit, even if only for a long weekend

Thanks Almanzora !

  • Subject: Jimbob´s review of Desert Springs provided to Golf Monthly

The Course

9/10.
Condition-wise, the course is unbelievable. Even from someone who plays at the club, which Golf Monthly described as having some of the 'finest and fastest greens around', I was seriously impressed. There are a fantastic mixture of long hitting and short 'thinking' holes including #6 'The Gambler' a 295 yard par 4 surrounded by bunkers but almost always downwind – fantastic golf hole. The bunkers and greens are immaculate, literally not a single fault.

Practice facilities

9/10.
Every morning we had buckets of balls out on the (grass) range ready for us with a little sign indicating which were ours, a really nice touch. The practice green was tricky and fast and the chipping green the same. There were greenside and fairway bunkers to practice from and enough room to hit any club you like.

Accommodation, resort and extras.

11/10
Villas were nice and spacious, with cooking facilities if you needed them and freeview on the telebox. Swimming pools, spa's etc … However, the best thing about the resort is the staff who are AMAZING. Simply could not do enough for you and never without a smile. Each morning your clubs were cleaned and put on buggys ready for you to go. They were super flexible with moving tee-times and met every request our group had. The food was incredible and the staff in the restaurant and bar put every club I've played in the UK to shame.

All in all, I'd highly recommend anyone who can, going out and having a play. Fantastic resort and tough course, which has been really well thought out. Nice weather and amazing staff to boot.

Dear Natalia,

Thank you for your email and apologies for not sending you my feedback sooner!

We had another amazing holiday at Desert Springs this year.

This was our third year returning and as always we were not disappointed. The resort is absolutely beautiful, incredibly well maintained, the staff are so friendly and helpful; nothing was too much trouble.

Our villa (La Rosa 11) was beautiful, and the pools fabulous.

We had a few meals at the clubhouse restaurant and each meal was excellent and great value for money.

Each year our holiday experience at Desert Springs gets better and we are already looking forward to our fourth holiday there next year.

Best wishes

In the restaurant, the food was still very good, the waiters were very friendly. I was pleased to see so many guests.

We hope to see you soon in Spain.

Following on from the success of their promotion last season to the Primera División (First Division) Union Deportiva Almeria (Almeria Football Club) selected Desert Springs Resort to be host once again to the pre-season training camp of their ‘B’ Squad between Monday 5th – Thursday 8th August.

A squad of 25 players and eight officials from Almeria Football Club spent three days at the resort for their training camp to benefit from the facilities of the renowned Football Academy established at Desert Springs.

Our resort accommodation at the community of Las Sierras was very comfortable and we found the sports facilities at the Sierra Sports & Fitness Club sufficient for the needs of our training camp. In their free time, some of the players ventured out to the Golf Academy to utilise the practice facilities and enjoyed themselves.

The Food and Beverage was of excellent quality and was specifically just what the team required.

The Resort staff were very professional and courteous and nothing was too much trouble for them.

In conclusion, Desert Springs Resort is a great location for a training camp. We have held training camps at other locations and all agree, including the players, that Desert Springs is of better quality!”

The training camp culminated with a pre-season friendly match at Desert Springs against Club Athlético Pulpileño with Almeria Football Club winning 6-0.

During their stay, the Almeria players and officials were accommodated in some of the privately-owned apartments normally reserved for holidays and short breaks at Desert Springs and the resort’s executive chef was on hand to cater for the special dietary requirements of individual players dining in the resort’s award-winning El Torrente Restaurant.
